Whether you buy a ready made candle kit from a candle store or if you make your own kit out of individual ingredients it really doesn't matter.

You need some candle making equipment including:

  • Pouring pot
  • Double boiler
  • Container or candle mold in your favorite candle shape
  • Soy candle wax
  • Natural dyes
  • Thermometer
  • Wooden spoon
  • Cotton candle wicks.

Simply add the essential oils such as lime, lavender or vanilla.

You'll find that candle soy melts easily and washes off your pouring pot or double boiler quickly with soap and water.

The first step is to melt the soy wax on the stove in your pot or double boiler.

Step 2, which color do you love? Choose blue, green, red or yellow dye and thoroughly stir into the wax.

Tip: You might add a couple of different color wax chunks so each soy candle has it's own stunning visual affect.

Step 3, take the melted soy wax off the stove and let it cool slightly, but not so much that the wax sets solid.

Step 4, if you're making a soy votive candle you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, just make sure you're stirring the oil thoroughly in the melted wax.

Step 5, now you're ready to pour the wax into your chosen container making sure the wick is secured to the base of the candle container before the wax candle sets.

You can make a long tapered pillar candle, however, you'll find votive candles that use a wider top give maximum scent throw to fill the entire room.

Step 6, trim the wick to leave half and inch at the top of the candle to light your new soy candle. There you have it, your new candle soy made with pure natural candles ready to enjoy over and over.
